Old PC won't turn on?

Open it up, find the BIOS or CMOS battery, and give it a wipe clean.

That often does the trick. If it does, it won't stay fixed for long - you will need to order a new 3V CR2032 battery (very cheap on ebay) to stop the problem recurring.

Thanks! It always surprises me how reliably this works on old computers that appear to give up the ghost for no immediately obvious reason.
